ABOUT
DARYL KRAMP

Daryl
Kramp is the Member of Parliament for the Electoral District of Prince
Edward-Hastings, first elected in June, 2004. His past political experience
includes six years as a municipal councilor and deputy reeve in the
municipality of Madoc.
Mr. Kramp brings wide, practical experience in the private sector to
his role as Member of Parliament. He has created and operated several
successful business ventures in the fields of retail, wholesale and
hospitality. His family business, Two Loons Resort and Restaurant, served
the local, regional and transient clientele for 18 years. Their corporate
and special events catering service was pre-eminent in the Bay of Quinte
region. In addition to hands-on operations, Mr. Kramp has taught in
the hospitality field at secondary school and community college levels.
He also has experience as a trade consultant and organized some of the
largest international junior ice hockey tours in North America.
Prior to his hospitality industry activity, he served the public as
a member of the Ontario Provincial Police before venturing into the
business world.
Involvement in local community is also important to Mr. Kramp. He is
past president of the local Kinsmen Club, the Canadian Cancer Society
and the local Chamber of Commerce. He has also been a past member of
the Kiwanis Club, the Royal Canadian Legion and various charitable organizations.
Daryl has been active as a player and coach in numerous competitive
sports at the local, provincial and national levels.
Mr.
Kramp was honoured, to be appointed by the Prime Minister, to serve
on the Finance Committee and presently acts as Vice-Chair of the Steering
Committee and Standing Committee of Public Accounts. Both Committees
have a strong mandate of oversight and accountability.
Mr.
Kramp has been elected as Co-Chair of the Canada-China Legislative Association,
Vice-Chair of the Canada-Australia/New Zealand Parliamentary Friendship
Group, Vice-Chair of the Canada-Africa Parliamentary Association and
Director of the Canada-Korea Interparliamentary Group. Mr. Kramp sits
on the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, the Canadian NATO Parliamentary
Association and the Canada-United States Inter-Parliamentary Group.
Daryl
and his wife Carol Ann have three daughters, Kari Layne (Brad Phillips),
Taryl (John Graham) and Shelby (Tadum Neuman)(along with five grandchildren,
Ky, Anna Belle, Tori, Ainsley and Reese.
